Dr. Jon Russell is a St. Louis native that graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Missouri State University in 1977, and then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1981 from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He relocated to Marengo, Illinois in 1992 after 10 years of practice in primary eye care in a multi-doctor office in northern Missouri, and in 1994 added the position of staff low vision optometrist at the Center for Sight & Hearing in Rockford.
At present, he is working 5 days a week for the Center for Site & Hearing in Rockford, and since has helped to establish their 4 satellite locations: Sycamore, Crystal Lake, Freeport and Dixon. Dr. Russell has been active in the Lions for 20 years and is now the Marengo Lions secretary. He and his wife, Cindy, enjoy the outdoors, their church ministries, and being involved in the lives of their five children.
