Cataracts Services
This is an exciting time in ophthalmology, in particular, for patients who are being evaluated for cataract surgery. If surgery is the best treatment for you, there are now more lens implant options than ever before. Prior to your appointment, please feel free to research these choices below or call our office with any questions.
Option #1
Standard Mono-focal Lens Implant - This lens implant gives patients good vision at one distance either for far away or up close, but not both. Glasses will be necessary for some activities. The cost of surgery and the lens are covered by your insurance.
Option #2
Premium Lens Implants - These lens implants offer patients the ability to focus far away and up close with less dependence on glasses than the standard mono-focal lens implant. Insurance covers the cost of the surgery but not the cost of the lens. The 3 types of premium lens implants are:
- Crystalens - This lens implant has one visual zone and focuses similarly to the natural lens of the eye. It gives patients their best vision far away and intermediate distances (i.e. driving, computer, piano.)
- ReZoom - This lens implant has multiple visual zones. It gives patients their best vision far away and intermediate distances (i.e. driving, computer, piano.)
- ReStor - This lens implant also has multiple visual zones blended together to give patients their best vision far away and up close (i.e. driving and reading.)
