IOL Options

When considering your options we ask patients to consider three questions:  1) How much night driving do you do? 2) How much do you use the computer or perform tasks at arms length? 3)  How much reading or close work do you do (14"-16")?

Crystalens IOL

• One visual Zone

• "Flexes" to work like the natural lens of the eye

• Best vision far away and at intermediate distances (i.e. driving, computer, and piano)

Multifocal IOL

• Uses multiple visual zones blended together

• Best vision at distance and at near (i.e. reading, knitting and driving)

• Adequate vision for work at arms length (i.e. computer and music)

Acrysof TORIC IOL

• Corrects higher amounts of astigmatism

• Best vision at distance

• Glasses needed for reading and close work

Traditional IOL-for cataract patients only

• Uses one visual zone

• Best vision is set for one distance, most commonly, distance vision

• Glasses needed for reading and close work
