Hauser-Ross welcomes oculoplastics specialist Starks

Dr. Kenya Starks has joined Hauser-Ross Eye Institute as an oculoplastics specialist. She recently completed her post-graduate training in oculoplastics, orbit and neuro-ophthalmology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

“We are very excited Dr. Starks chose to join Hauser-Ross,” says Chris Frankovich, Hauser-Ross Eye Institute practice administrator. “Given her professional and personal qualities, she will no doubt help us continue to fulfill our high-quality ophthalmic services in a patient-friendly manner.”

As an oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Starks is trained to evaluate and treat a variety of conditions affecting the eyelid. These include drooping lids, eyelid tumors and conditions that affect the lacrimal system. She is also trained in orbital and neuro-ophthalmic diseases. This includes treatment of patients who have thyroid eye disease and orbital tumors.

Dr. Starks completed her residency with the Department of Ophthalmology at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University Feinstein School of Medicine in Chicago.

She received her medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, and received the National Medical Fellowship Award for Academic Excellence in Medicine.

Dr. Starks holds several memberships and affiliations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association.
